About Principal Team Manager – Materials Scientist role

As a Principal Team Manager, you will lead and line-manage operation of the crystallisation and solid-state teams to deliver excellent results for our customers. You will be mentoring and coaching junior staff members, and by leading by example, you will support teams’ personal and technical development.

Our Principal Team Managers demonstrate and deliver scientific excellence in your area of materials science expertise, following external scientific and technological development in the area of small molecule chemical development.

As the company continues to grow rapidly, CatSci requires an additional Principal Team Manager – Materials Scientist to join a dynamic team in our world-class facility. 

Your Impact as Principal Team Manager – Materials Scientist

  • 40 – 50% of projects’ work
  • Team development and leadership

Requirements for Principal Team Manager – Materials Scientist

  • Ideally, a PhD in chemical engineering or chemistry with a technical focus on pharmaceutical crystallisation (additional industrial or academic experience preferred); however, a Master’s degree with a substantial experience in crystallisation/ solid-state will be considered
  • Knowledge of crystallisation methodologies relevant to drug substances
  • Familiarity with process analytical technologies in the context of crystallisation process development (desired)
  • Knowledge of data analytics and data visualisation tools
  • Experience in using thermal, spectroscopic, microscopy and particle characterisation methods
  • Experience in team leadership and management 

Benefits

  • Competitive salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
