About the role:
The Facilities Operations Manager will, as part of the FSC Operations management team have overall responsibility of all property operations to maintain optimum accommodation, environmental and support service standards within our FM guidelines and budgetary constraints.
The post-holder is responsible for ensuring that the physical environment is fit for purpose in terms of premises, facilities, health & safety, and office accommodation in order to deliver successful staff performance and excellent customer service in addition to ensuring that the business has the appropriate level of FM services and support for their operational requirements
What you’ll be doing:
Working alongside Group Facilities to ensure the effective delivery of hard and soft services to a high standard Reporting and escalation to the Group Head of Facilities Management Support the Head of Projects on capital investment projects Coordinating building maintenance and operational activities Manage in house landscaping services Ensuring facilities, including Incident Ground and USAR meet Government Regulations, Building Regulations, Environmental, Health, Safety and Security Standards Ensuring contractor management systems comply with Group Property standards Auditing works for compliance and quality standards Overall responsibility for the Sports complex, meeting rooms and events management Lead the Energy Management and Environmental/Sustainability focus for FM Work across the business to support all aspects of operational service delivery. Organise and chair weekly operations meetings and ensure all objectives and requirements are clearly communicated across the team What we’re looking for:
Senior Estates Management, Property Operations management or Facilities Management experience gained in comparable environments. A qualification in health & safety (NEBOSH, IOSH) would be advantageous Demonstrate a full understanding of statutory legislation as it relates to the built environment. Demonstrable up-to-date knowledge of current licensing, H&S (Health & Safety) and disability/access legislation, and the ability to apply these pragmatically through appropriate policies and procedures Experience of diligently managing customer relationships within organisations and with managing and recommending improvements to SLAs (Service Level Agreements) with customers and facilities service providers. Experience of the management of facilities management and capital revenue budgets. Leadership skills with proven experience of leading, supporting and mentoring teams. Able to present information, verbally and in writing, in a clear, persuasive and concise manner to a wide range of stakeholders. Recruit, induct, train, and develop staff, identify, and nurture talent in line with Capita procedures and systems linking in with Group HR (Human Resources) and using Workday. Work with team members to ensure that they feel supported and engaged. Ensure that staff understand the vision, values and strategic direction of the FSC, and that staff are actively involved in the setting and achievement of business or team objectives. Encourage innovation and cross functional working. Plan and manage resources to ensure business objectives are met in relevant business area. Contribute to the longer term FSC strategic business planning by bringing forward commercially sound ideas and proposals. Work with team members to engage and involve them to set team and personal objectives in line with business plan. Provide effective performance feedback and recognition in line with Capita processes to ensure objectives are met. Monitor and report on performance against KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and objectives. About Fire Service College
